Bag-Print\u2019 Earns Global Acclaim at Konkan International Handicrafts Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Bhopal:<\/strong> The priceless heritage of India and the pride of Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Dhar district, Bag-Print, has once again dazzled the world. At the International Handicrafts Festival 2025, held from September 19 to 21 in the historic city of Kokand, Uzbekistan, young artisan Mohammad Khatri captivated everyone with his exquisite craftsmanship. The festival saw participation from 278 master artisans representing 70 countries, with only two artisans from India taking part.<\/p>\n\n\n

The spotlight of the festival was on Mohammad Khatri, grandson of the late Ismail Khatri, the pioneer of Bag-Print. He was honoured with the \u201cMaster of the Best Craft\u201d award for his contribution to preserving the Bag-Print art and tradition. The award was presented by Khairullo Bozarov, Governor of the Fergana Region, Uzbekistan. International fashion designers and art critics recognised Khatri\u2019s Bag-Print as the \u2018future of world-class fashion\u2019 and hailed it as a historic step toward sustainable textiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first time Mohammad Khatri has brought recognition to India. In 2017, he received the International Fashion Designer Creation Award in Bangkok, Thailand. He has also left a remarkable impression at the Kuala Lumpur International Crafts Festival in Malaysia. In India, Khatri continues to promote the Bag-Print tradition, winning hearts at numerous national exhibitions across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammad Khatri said, \u201cBehind this honor is the hard work of my ancestors, my family\u2019s tradition, and the essence of India\u2019s soil.
